How much does the average wedding cake cost?
Most bakeries will charge you by the slice. If you need 100 slices, you will pay 100 times the price per slice. Our starting price is $2.00 per slice. Therefore, a cake
with 100 slices would be 100 x $2.00 = $200. Remember, this amount could vary some due to the size of cake you need. In order for the cake to be proportioned correctly, you may
need to increase or decrease the number by a few servings. The number of servings including the top tier is used to determine the price.
There is an additional charge for fondant icing, fruit, ribbons, string beads, etc.
Can each tier be a different flavor?
Yes, each tier can be a different flavor. However, we would recommend using no more than two flavors. If you have too many choices, your guests may decide to sample more flavors leaving you with not enough cake.
If you would like to have more than 2 flavors, we would suggest increasing the number of servings to allow for this.
Do you charge for delivery
Delivery charges start at $45 for Chattanooga. Mountain deliveries and other areas may have an additional charge.
Do you require a deposit to hold the day?
We do require a 40% deposit to hold the day. We require payment of the remaing balance 4 weeks prior to the wedding date.
See Terms of Contract section for further information.
What if we don't know how many people we will have?
We use your best approximation to calculate the amount of the deposit required. Then, we use your final count to factor the remaing balance into your final payment.
The final count needs to be in at least 4 weeks before the wedding date.
When do we need to book you?
You can book us for weddings one year in advance so you are never too early. Most people book from 4 to 6 months in advance, but it is always good to make sure all your
vendors are available and you have reserved space for your event prior to booking.
How soon do you book up?
It is always good to secure a date as early as possible because we are limited to the number of orders we can take per weekend, as we bake our cakes fresh and never freeze
them in advance. We try our best never to turn anyone away.
Who does the flowers on the cake and table?
Your florist will be able to help you choose the appropriate flowers and foliage. If fresh flowers are being used on your cake, you are responsible for the flowers and
make sure that the flowers and foliage are safe to place on edible cake. Some flowers and foliage are not safe to use. It is your responsibility to select wisely with the assistance of
your florist. We can coordinate times and delivery with them as needed. We can arrange the flowers on the cake if needed. However, they are to be provided by you or the florist.
How much do you charge to rent your equipment?
All our cake stand are free to rent with the purchase of the cake. The fountain rental fee is $20. We do, however, require a separate refundable deposit that will be returned
to you once the equipment is returned to us in good, clean condition 2 days following the wedding. See the Terms of Contract section for further details. We do not currently have the silver plateau stands. These can be rented from most rental companies.
Do we need a knife and a cake server?
Yes, you do need a knife and cake server for slicing the cakd and taking pictures. Some sites provide them, but most do not.
Can you make a cake from a picture I saw in a magazine or on the internet?
We can duplicate almost any cake design you bring in. Remember, it will not be an exact replica but we can discuss the complexities of the project and create a cake to the best
of our ability.
Do I need an appointment for a consultation?
Yes. This insures that we will have ample time to answer all questions you may have. It also allows us to have samples on hand for you.
Do people really save their cake top for a year?
Some people still follow this tradition. If you decide to save the top tier, freezing instructions will be provided to you.
What is a groom's cake? Do I need one?
The groom's cake has become something to represent the groom's interests, hobbies, profession, etc.
Do you cut the cake?
No, I do not cut the wedding cake. You may check with your caterer, as some do provide this service. They may charge a fee for cutting the cake.
Another option is to have a family member or friend cut the cake for you. A cake cutting guide will be provided for them to use to insure the correct number of servings are achieved.
